Calvin Klein’s ex-wife Kelly is set to become a mom for the first time age 50, according to The New York Post’s Page Six.
“She is expecting a baby and it is with a surrogate,” Kelly’s spokesman, Paul Wilmot, is quoted as saying.
Childless through her 20-year marriage, Klein is using an unidentified surrogate mother implanted with one of her eggs to give birth to a baby boy. Klein is also not revealing the identity of the father, but Wilmot confirmed that no family member or male relative was involved.
The due date is around Nov. 1, when Klein is scheduled to fly out to California for the event.
“Kelly will be living with the baby in New York and Palm Beach,” Wilmot said. The newborn will carry his mother’s maiden name, which is Rector.
The fashion czar’s former spouse has craved a child for some time, but as her marriage to Klein, 64, collapsed in April 2006, the chances of baby making three dropped to less than zero.
Shortly before her 40th birthday, Klein lamented that she could feel her biological clock ticking down, and said she might consider adoption at one point.
The design guru has a daughter Marci, 40, from his first marriage.
