Call me maybe?
“We were in a tiffy last night,” she says. “It’s his fault, of course. He forgot to call me back for a really long time … like six hours.”
DeGeneres jokingly offers to call Lucado and set him straight, but Spears demurs. “No, we’re fine now,” she says. “We’re totally fine.”
It surely helped that Spears, who turned 32 Monday, is head over heels about her boyfriend of eight months. Upon meeting in a bar, she says, it was love at first sight.
“I think it was instant, yeah,” says the pop star. “I just love that he’s very passionate and he’s funny and he’s sexy. I don’t know, I like him. I just … I love him.”
Lucado certainly helped Spears move on after her engagement to Jason Trawick ended in January – a breakup that Spears also works through on her song “Til It’s Gone” from her new album Britney Jean, which was released Tuesday.
“I think it’s healthy,” she says of getting closure through her music. “I think if you’re ready to share that with the world, personal things like that, then I think it’s very therapeutic and good for you to do that.”
