A Beverly Hills judge sentenced actress Halle Berry to three years probation and fined her $13,500 on Wednesday for leaving the scene of a February accident. Berry, who appeared in court to plead no contest to charges, was also ordered to serve 200 hours of community service. Berry, 31, received stitches for a head injury following a collision between her rented Chevrolet Blazer and the car of another driver at an intersection in West Hollywood. The other driver, Hetal Raythatha, sustained a broken wrist and other injuries. “Your honor, I would like the court to know that I have taken this matter very seriously from the very beginning,” Berry said. “I am pleased that this can be resolved.” During a “20/20” interview with Diane Sawyer last night, Berry denied allegations that she had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She also said she had no memory of the crash and “would never leave someone injured, even if it were an accident that I weren’t involved in.” Berry still faces a civil suit by Raythatha.
