Baseball's Williams in Hospital

Posted on

Hall of Fame baseball player Ted Williams, 82, has reportedly been in the intensive care unit of a Florida hospital for a week, suffering from congestive heart failure, according to the Boston Globe. Doctors were said to be considering implanting a pacemaker into the former Boston Red Sox great, who was admitted to the University of Florida’s medical center last Monday. In the past decade, Williams, who retired in 1960, has been in declining health, owing to some strokes. On Saturday a hospital spokesman released a statement that the slugging champ was listed in fair condition but that his family requested that no other information be released.
