1. SHE BELIEVES EVERYONE SHOULD WEAR WHATEVER THEY WANT
"Why can't people just let other people feel good about themselves and do what they want?" wrote the Modern Family actress on Instagram, responding to comments about an ultra-glam dress she wore to a casual event. "WEAR WHATEVER YOU WANT PEOPLE!"

2. SHE'S AN OPEN BOOK – AND ENCOURAGES OTHER GIRLS TO BE THE SAME
When Modern Family's Ariel Winter made the decision to undergo breast reduction surgery, the star was quick to open up about the experience, saying that she chose to get the procedure following years of "excruciating [back] pain" and bullying. 4. SHE USES HER STAR POWER TO SUPPORT THOSE IN NEED
The actress has career goals that go beyond the small screen: She told PEOPLE of her desire to become a social justice lawyer following her personal experience with the court system when working to get her guardianship transferred from her mother to her sister and then, last year, when she petitioned to become an emancipated minor. "With what I've gone through, I think it's really important to become a voice for abuse victims who have no voice," she said. "I want to be able to make a difference."

6. SHE STANDS UP FOR WHAT SHE BELIEVES IN
Winter isn't afraid to use her voice – which she proved after addressing the issue she takes with Vine star Nash Grier, who has previously come under fire for making homophobic and misogynist remarks on his channel. "How can one person say so many terrible things on every end of the spectrum and never realize they're wrong? I also don't buy that you were young and didn't understand the impact of your words," she tweeted. "We live in America, not under a rock. You and I are fortunate enough to have access to television, the internet, magazines, etc that daily stress to us the importance of social and racial tolerance."

7. SHE SHUTS DOWN BODY SHAMERS
"Who knew that an innocent photo with my nieces would turn into this?" Winter wrote on Instagram after followers left a string of negative comments ("provocative" and "slut") on a bikini pic. "The height of a girl's skirt or whatever she is wearing for that matter, does not imply what she is asking for."
