Jennifer Aniston’s September travel schedule is falling into place, while Reese Witherspoon is mulling over a lead role in a romantic comedy from her own production company, say trade reports.
Aniston, 35, is due to start shooting the thriller Derailed in London and Chicago with British King Arthur actor Clive Owen, says the Hollywood Reporter.
The film, to mark the English-language debut of Swedish director Mikael Hafstrom (Evil) with a script by Collateral screenwriter Stuart Beattie, revolves around a married advertising executive who misses his train to work – triggering a series of harrowing events.
Aniston will go directly into production right after she finishes a still-untitled comedy that loosely follows the storyline of The Graduate, reports Variety.
Witherspoon, meanwhile, is eyeing a film version of Leslie Schnur’s new comic novel The Dog Walker, about a New York publishing executive who loses her job, takes up walking pooches for Manhattan’s elite and become involved in their lives – or, at least, she gets to snoop into some snazzy apartments.
Witherspoon’s Type A Films is producing, which will give the Legally Blonde star, 28, first crack at the lead.
