The September tease is over. It’s October, which means it’s really fall this time!
So long, Indian Summer, with your hot temperatures, humid air and awkward levels of sweat, since we couldn’t resist putting on a sweater and embracing our favorite season.
Now that October is finally here, shrug off all the last signs of summer – and prepare to check the following off your fall bucket list:
Drink a PSL in perfectly crisp fall weather.
Break out your favorite pair of leather boots, walk across a pile of leaves and hear that oh-so-satisfying crunch
Go apple picking and bring home more apples than you typically eat in a year.
And then use said apples to bake apple crisps, apple pies, apple cider donuts, apple tarts, apple cupcakes, apple cobbler – you get the picture.
Have a bonfire before it gets too cold to stand outside for longer than two minutes.
Start buying your “Halloween candy” weeks before the holiday – and eat it all before, too! Stores put it out more than a month in advance for a reason, right?
And remember that, in October, it’s fully acceptable to consider candy corn a vegetable.
Participate in the part of football season that everyone likes, regardless of whether or not they’re a sports fan: tailgating.
Watch a scary movie – or just binge-watch the last four seasons of American Horror Story.
Buy a pumpkin with the intentions of carving it in time for Halloween, but actually do it two nights before.
And of course: Shamelessly Instagram yourself doing all of the above.
