Maria Menounos isn’t looking to put in any extra effort to achieve the perfect body.
The former Extra co-host admits underneath it all, she’s just a normal girl with a work-in-progress figure.
“If I were to take my jeans off right now, you would see pre-cellulite,” the reality star says in the July/August issue of Health magazine. “It doesn’t look that good, but I’m okay with that. We’re all human.”
If Menounos makes it a priority to firm up her figure, she has her eye on a few celebrities who make working out look good – really good. And she’s not afraid to let them know!
“Trust me: I’ll see Giuliana Rancic‘s Tweets in the morning and she’s like, at the gym at 4 a.m., and I’m thinking, ‘God bless you!’ I could never in a million years,” she says. “I never look at anybody’s body and think, ‘Oh my God, I hate her.’ What I do is admire.”
Although the Chasing Maria Menounos star is all about embracing the skin she’s in, her journey to total acceptance has been years of learning healthy habits.
After giving herself a green light to eat whatever she wanted in college, the model found herself overweight. Menounos eventually dropped the pounds for a pageant, but soon realized being thin wasn’t the answer to all her problems.
“Even though I was skinny, I was eating so poorly that I landed in the hospital for dehydration and nutrient issues,” she says. “I was in the hospital for a week with a rare intestinal infection. They thought I had SARS.”
It was there, in that hospital room in France, that Menounos made the decision to start fresh. “I wrote on a piece of paper, I will not compromise my health for anyone or anything ever again. I still have that note,” she says.
