These firefighters are sparking some flames of their own.
A group of French firefighters lent their sculpted physiques to a 2016 charity calendar in an effort to raise both awareness and money for Firefighters Without Borders – a non-profit that assists fire departments by providing training, skills and resources.
In partnership with French publishing house Flammarion Editions and photographer Fred Goudon, the firefighters ditched their shirts for the sultry calendar.
The photo shoot was a new experience for the men, who had never worked as models before. But spokeswoman Ingrid Meucci told Refinery29 that the photographer “spent time talking to [the firefighters and made] them feel trusting.”
The three-day shoot was chronicled in a series of scorching-hot YouTube videos, showcasing the men (and their washboard abs) as they posed for pictures.
The calendar, released in September, has raised more than $8,000 for the organization and about 7,000 copies of the calendar have been sold, Refinery29 reports.
The proceeds have even helped Firefighters Without Borders to send a team and fire truck to help local firefighters in Lebanon.
“I guess we can say that our calendar ‘set on fire’ people all around the world,” Meucci told Refinery29. “And we hope it will continue.”
