Tilda Swinton Says George Clooney ‘Used to Laugh’ About Her Parenting Twins: ‘Now I Have the Last Laugh’

Posted on

Tilda Swinton remembers the days when her good pal George Clooney used to poke fun at her for frequent night wakings from her twins, Xavier and Honor, who are now 9-years-old.

“I have twins myself and [George] always used to laugh about me looking so tired when the twins were small, and now I have the last laugh,” Swinton, 56, told reporters Thursday night at the New York City premiere of Okja .

As for the advice Clooney, 56, asked about raising twins? Swinton said she shared very little.

“I’ve just laughed. I’ve laughed at him across the airwaves,” she said of her Hail, Caesar costar.

Also at the Okja event was Clooney’s close friend, Brad Pitt. The Netflix film, which starts streaming on June 28, was produced by Pitt’s company Plan B Entertainment.

Clooney and wife Amal, 39, welcomed their new little ones earlier this week, with a spokesman for the couple saying in a statement: “Ella, Alexander and Amal, 39, are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George, 56, is sedated and should recover in a few days.”

Sources confirmed in February that the Oscar-winning actor-director and the international human-rights lawyer were expecting. George, Amal and their families were “all very happy,” a source said at the time.

“What I saw were these two perfect, picture-postcard babies. They were two great-looking babies!” George’s father Nick Clooney told PEOPLE recently from his home in Kentucky.
