Krim Family Expecting Baby Boy This Fall

Marina and Kevin Krim, whose nanny allegedly murdered two of their three children last October, are expecting a son in the fall, they announced on their Facebook page Thursday.

“Nessie can’t wait to welcome her baby brother,” the couple write. “We are filled with many emotions as we look to the future, but the most important one is hope. We are very grateful to you all for your amazing support.”

Their Facebook page, which bears the name of their children and the Lulu and Leo Fund, created in the wake of their deaths, was instantly flooded with hundreds of comments and thousands of “likes.”

“This is the happiest magical news we all could hope for,” wrote one woman. “This little boy is a symbol of so many things. Your hearts were broken, but you never let your spirit dwindle.”

Yoselyn Ortega is accused of stabbing Lucia, known as Lulu, 6, and Leo, 2, to death last October in the Krims’s New York City apartment. She has pleaded not guilty. Although Ortega, 50, was found mentally fit for trial in April, her lawyers disagree and a trial date has not yet been set. Her next court date is May 21.

The Krims formed the Lulu and Leo Fund not long after the deaths of Lulu and Leo. The nonprofit raises money for art and science programs for disadvantaged children.

The couple began regularly posting updates on how they’re doing earlier this year.

“We are hopeful that 2013 will be a year of healing, growth and peace,” they wrote on Jan. 3. “Today, we are leaving on a RV trip with some friends to cross the country from L.A. back to N.Y.C.”

“Along the way, we are hoping to experience some inspiring moments that will help us with our healing and rebuilding when we get back to N.Y.C.”
