In the Kardashian-West household, the apples don’t fall far from either tree!
Just ask mom Kim Kardashian West — who stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show for an interview that will air Thursday and opened up about the ways her 3½-year-old daughter North and 16-month-old son Saint take after her and her husband, Kanye West.
According to the Keeping Up with the Kardashian star, Saint takes after his mom.
“He’s my twin,” Kardashian West, 36, said. “He’s literally my twin personality. He’s so sweet. And he’s just such a good good boy. Just such a good person.”
If Saint is a mini-Kim, North is a mini-Kanye.
“She’s really really smart, actually. She knows how to outsmart us — of she thinks she does. But she is Kanye’s twin,” Kardashian West said. “Same personality, says the same wild things. Those two…”
So does that mean North and Saint get along? Not necessarily.
“North just beats him up all day long… she’s just awful,” Kardashian West said. “She is so jealous, and I thought it was a phase — it’s not going away. She just says boys aren’t allowed in her room. Like, when she’s gone at school, I’m like, ‘It’s time let’s go in her room! Do whatever you want — go crazy!’ ”
The jealousy got so bad that Kardashian West had to come up with a creative solution when she was breastfeeding Saint.
“When I was breastfeeding him, [North] was so jealous I had to get a little milk box and put it in the other bra with a straw so she would drink and he would drink,” Kardashian West revealed. “She’s so jealous. It’s crazy. The things you do.”
Elsewhere in the chat, Kardashian West discussed the pressure she feels to surprise Kanye West for his upcoming 40th birthday. “He does the most amazing, romantic, over-the-top, crazy, wild things that you would never even imagine for me. So the pressure is so on!,” she said.
While no plans have been set in stone yet, Kardashian West said she had some ideas — though wouldn’t give out specifics, obviously. “I think I still want it to be intimate, maybe small,” she said. “Not too crazy. Not too overwhelming just yet.”
DeGeneres wasn’t buying that and offered up something bigger: her show, for the entire hour, as a place for to Kardashian West and her family to honor Kanye. “He can play music and talk about whatever he wants,” the host said. “He and North can have a conversation!”
Also on the episode, Kardashian West talked with DeGeneres about her horrifying Paris robbery — getting emotional and revealing that it’s made her a better mother.
“I know this sounds crazy, but I know that was meant to happen to me,” she said, holding back tears. “I don’t want to start crying, but… I’m such a different person I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things.”
“It was probably no secret, you see it on the show me being flashy, but I was definitely materialistic before,” Kardashian West explained. “Not that there’s anything bad about having things and working hard to get those things — and I’m really proud of everyone that’s around me that’s successful. But I’m so happy that my kids get this me. And that this is who is raising my kids. Because I just don’t care about that stuff anymore, I really don’t.”
Since the October Paris robbery, Kardashian West has pulled back from the public eye — not flaunting her material items on social media. “It’s not worth it,” she said. I don’t care about that stuff. I don’t care to show off the way that I used to. …It’s just not who I am anymore.”

Her robbers — who broke into her room at the No Address Hotel and held her at gunpoint, tying her up as they stole millions of dollars worth of her jewelry — were said to be following Kardashian West for years, as she showed off her expensive jewelry on red carpets and social media shares.
Now, Kardashian West says she doesn’t think she’ll ever feel comfortable wearing jewelry again.
“I truly don’t know if I’ll ever feel comfortable,” she said. “I truly don’t know if I’ll ever wear real jewelry again. Just my whole life has changed as far as how I travel and just security. I never though I needed security staying outside of my door. Even though I had a lot of jewelry, and if you think about it — yeah, I should have had a security guard outside my door 24/7 when I’m traveling. Now, I have several for me to be able to sleep at night.”
Looking back on the incident, she recalled thinking how she was going to die.
“That was it for me. 100 percent,” she said. “I said a prayer, I know I’m going to heaven. I hope my kids are okay, my husband. It does happen really fast. It was a good seven or eight minutes of torture.”
Still, Kardashian West sees the silver lining. “When I look back and analyze it, it could have been way worse,” she said. “I’m out, I’m home, I’m safe, I’m such a better person — it’s okay.”
