It’s a girl for Kelsey Nixon!
“We made it. Our Nora Elizabeth is everything we dreamed of and more,” the Food Network and Cooking Channel star captioned an Instagram photo of herself and Egan gazing at their baby girl, who arrived weighing 7 lbs., 1 oz.
“This day couldn’t have been more special,” she added.
Nora joins 4-year-old big brother Oliver. The couple’s son Leo died due to complications a month after his birth in 2015.

Shortly after announcing her daughter’s arrival, Nixon shared a close-up shot of her sweet “rainbow baby” snoozing soundly.
“Heaven sent. We couldn’t love her more,” she wrote next to the photo. “Nora means honor and light. We picked this beautiful name for her to honor her big brother Leo and to acknowledge the light that she’s brought into our lives after so much darkness.”
“It was a last minute name switch, but we think it’s fitting for our special girl. What a gift she is!”
Nixon announced that the family was expecting a new addition on her blog, noting that her sister-in-law would be the one to carry the couple’s baby. Of their decision to use a surrogate, Nixon said it was based on medical advice.
“And so that is why we chose to pursue gestational surrogacy where it is my eggs, my husband’s sperm, and that baby is simply carried by another woman but is genetically ours.”
