It may be only hours before the historic 2016 presidential election, but Hillary Clinton isn’t forgetting her grandma duties — particularly, in imparting some deep wishes for her granddaughter‘s future.
“I just want her to learn the qualities of being a good person and get as many words in her vocabulary as possible and just have fun, which she’s quite an expert at,” the Democratic presidential hopeful tells PEOPLE in an interview for the current issue, of her granddaughter Charlotte.
“She knows that our logo stands for Grandma. So if you’re wearing a sticker or she sees that, she’ll go, ‘Grandma, Grandma,’ ” says Clinton, 69. “She connects that, but I don’t think she’s old enough to understand much more that that, and that’s fine with me.”

Turns out Charlotte can recognize not only her grandma’s logo well, but her likeness too.
“She knows that there is a doll, this hard rubber plastic doll that people sell that looks like me in a blue pantsuit. Somebody gave one to her and she knew it was her grandma,” Clinton says.
But come Tuesday, it sounds like Charlotte will probably be heading to bed along with her little brother Aidan, 4 months, at their regular time.
“Bedtime is pretty sacrosanct,” Clinton says. “It was when I was the mother of my daughter when she was young, and we’ll talk about it, but I think it will probably continue to be sacrosanct. She is only 2.”
