Flipping Out fans rejoice: Jenni Pulos is pregnant for the second time!
The 44-year-old exclusively tells PEOPLE that she’s expecting a baby girl in June with husband Dr. Jonathan Nassos. The couple are also parents to 3-year-old daughter Alianna Marika.
“It was a real miracle,” Pulos says. “For me, there was this unconditional love I received from my daughter that validated everything that other people hadn’t in my life. So when I found out that that would happen again, it was like, this is too great.”
Her journey to baby number two, however, has not been easy, as she had to overcome many disheartening obstacles that accompany in vitro fertilization treatments.
“We had one embryo that they said could be viable,” she recalls. “They said you’d have a 50/50 percent chance that it will work.”
But that didn’t stop Pulos from blazing on. “We had one chance, and through the process we almost stopped because the doctor said, ‘This isn’t looking good,’ ” she says. “And something in me said, go forward.”
Pulos also chose to share her fertility efforts on the most recent season of the Bravo show she costars on with house-flipping favorite, Jeff Lewis.
Although she says she and her husband were “really hesitant,” to document the painful process at first, she told PEOPLE in August, “Being open about it and being able to share lets other people understand that they’re not alone.”
Although Pulos is honest about the emotionally and physically taxing side effects of IVF — “There were some dark times in this, I’m not going to pretend like there weren’t,” she says — she’s dedicated to spreading the message to fellow struggling couples that the impossible can happen.
“I want people to believe that they can have a lot of touchdown passes in the fourth quarter,” she says. “I want them to have hope.”
Now, after a combination of her own advice and help from her strong support system, Pulos is eagerly awaiting her second child, a moment she says will be “quite overwhelming.”
“I feel like a champion because I took this on,” she says. “I can’t tell you what it’s going to feel like the day my daughter is born. I fought for this little girl.”
