Motherhood doesn’t take a vacation when Carrie Underwood is on tour!

On Wednesday night, following a Tampa, Florida, stop on her Storyteller Tour, the country songstress posted a black-and-white photo to Instagram depicting her 20-month-old son Isaiah Michael hanging out on her lap as she works on her hair in front of a mirror.

“He doesn’t care that Mommy had to get ready for a show … ” Underwood captioned the candid moment. “All he knows is that he woke up cranky from his nap and needed a cuddle.”

“And I was more than happy to comply. #multitasking #momlife #roadlife #thestorytellertour,” added the singer, who opened up to PEOPLE in September about how she does her own hair and makeup on the road.

Underwood’s tour is set to wrap at the end of November, after a 10-month stretch. And the mother of one is likely looking forward to spending more time over the holidays with Isaiah and her husband of six years, Nashville Predators captain Mike Fisher.

“When I was pregnant, I thought, How am I going to go on the road? How am I going to keep doing my job?” the “Heartbeat” singer told Redbook recently for its November cover story. “I had to just give it to God and stop worrying about it. Sure enough, we figured it out.”

Enjoy it, baby boy…when you're an adult, sticking your face in the bowl to lick the bottom is "frowned upon."

Just because she has been busy this year doesn’t mean Underwood hasn’t found ways to have fun with her little guy in between shows. In October, the mother-son duo visited Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

In fact, the singer has made it clear that finding moments of low-key joy with Isaiah is crucial on the road.

“On days off, we look for parks and zoos and aquariums,” she told PEOPLE in September.
