EMMA WATSON PRAISES MTV FOR GENDERLESS CATEGORIES
While accepting best actor for her performance in Beauty and the Beast, Watson celebrated the awards show's decision to do away with gendered categories. "MTV's move to create a genderless award for acting will mean something different to everyone, but for me, it indicates that acting is about the ability to put yourself into someone else's shoes," she said. "And that doesn't need to be separated into two categories."

THE NEXT GENERATION WINS THE NIGHT
While the awards ceremony boasted high-profile guests like Zac Efron and Taraji P. Henson, its youngest attendees undoubtedly stole the show. MOONLIGHT WINS BEST KISS
Adding to the film's overwhelming trophy haul, Ashton Sanders and Jharrel Jerome from Moonlight took home the award for best kiss. “This award is bigger than Jharrel and I,” Sanders said in the pair's touching speech. “This represents more than a kiss. This is for those who feel like the unders, the misfits — this represents us. We love y’all and thank y’all.”

It turns out that the Pearsons can get us all choked up even when we're not watching the show. All we need is to watch Milo Ventimiglia interact with his on-screen children — we're still emotional (and we're reaching for our tissues) over watching him lower the mic for Lonnie Chavis.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST WINS MOVIE OF THE YEAR
After Hawn and Schumer parodied the now-infamous Oscars mix-up — announcing La La Light and Moon Land as the original winners — Emma Watson, Josh Gad and director Bill Condon accepted the night's top honor. Gad even threw in a "thank you" from co-stars Dan Stevens and Luke Evans … even if it did mean that Watson had to endure his excruciating English accent.

We definitely weren't alone in freaking out — and that was before the Stranger Things kids gave the most adorable acceptance speech of all time.
