After the premiere of their Nickelodeon show garnered 6.8 million viewers, the stars of Big Time Rush will be big-timers when they walk the orange carpet at the Kids’ Choice Awards. But the singer-actors who form the band in the show – Logan Henderson, James Maslow, Kendall Schimdt and Carlos Pena – are looking forward to something else at the awards, hosted by Kevin James.
“I know Justin Bieber is performing and Rihanna is performing,” Henderson tells PEOPLE of the broadcast, which airs live on Saturday (8 p.m. EST) on Nickelodeon. “I know me and the guys are super excited to see them. So many names are coming – Robert Downey Jr.! I don’t get star struck but I may be getting a little bit when I see all the great and talented people who are going to be there.”
Among the stars appearing on the show are Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Katy Perry, Lea Michele, Queen Latifah, Dev Patel, Jonah Hill, Chris Rock, Jackie Chan, David Spade, John Cena, and Olympians Apolo Anton Ohno and Shaun White. Of course, Henderson adds, “our friends from iCarly and VicTORIous are going to be there.”
On Friday, Big Time Rush, who will be presenters at the awards, got to walk-through the venue, the UCLA Pauley Pavilion. “The stage itself is completely stunning,” Henderson says. “We actually did film a little thing with Kevin James, which was cool and super-funny! He took some time out and we spent a little more time with him and he was really great.”
The band also got a sneak-peek at the touch and feel of . . . green slime. “I’m not exactly sure what they have in store for us,” Henderson admits, “but the point of the Kids’ Choice Awards is to have fun, and [Friday] they had a huge tub of slime, and me and the guys dipped our hands in it, and that was pretty crazy. I know we all want to be slimed and, of course, many people get slimed at the Awards. I hope they have some extra clothes for us!”
