In Which We Use Cats to Explain Taylor Swift Songs

The boys who break Taylor Swift’s heart are not all that different from cats when you think about it.

Charming, handsome, furry (we’re looking at you, Jake Gyllenhaal), cunning, indignant … you get the point. So it’s no surprise Swift, mom to a kitty named Meredith, loves both.

But it’s her unabashed ability to turn said boys into hit songs that’s sending her to Sunday’s Grammy Awards, where the four-time nominee is hoping to add some more accolades to her name. Her album Red, in all its tear-stained, girl-power glory, is up for album of the year and best country album.

Until Sunday, we’ll be listening to our favorite cat lady’s Grammy contender. But instead of dissecting each lyric to figure out which famous ex she’s singing about, we’ll leave the interpretations, track by track, up to these felines.
