Hedwig and the Angry Inch‘s Neil Patrick Harris isn’t the only big TV star up for a Tony Award Sunday night, but give him credit – he is the only TV star nominated for playing the role of a transgender East German glam-rocker.

In honor of Harris’s transformation, we’ve decided to see what the How I Met Your Mother star looks like posing with his gender-flipped self, along with an octet of actors who – whether they played trans characters, or just cis folk forced to cross-dress by the demands of plot – also became their own personal Orlandos.

That’s right: Our Photoshop time machine is now a Photoshop gender machine.

They’re the new Berlin Wall, baby – just try to tear them down!

Looks like the Dallas Buyers Club has at least one new member. One of these Letos should probably send a thank-you gift to the other one.

Lady Gaga

As her male altar ego Jo Calderone, Gaga’s got the scowl and swagger of a young Al Pacino.

Barbra Streisand

Unlike in Yentl, today Streisand would likely not have to dress as a man in order to study the Talmud.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth won an Oscar for her role as a cross-dressing actress in Shakespeare in Love, an honor denied her character in the film, who lived 335 years before the Oscars were created.

The Oscar winner and his cross-dressing self are a regular pair of bosom buddies.

She’s the man, and also the woman.
