Fans were already on the alert for a Dallas reunion when the rebooted version of the popular 1980s drama begins this summer, but viewers will get an earlier taster when three of the show’s stars present at the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards later this month.
Larry Hagman (who plays J.R. Ewing), Patrick Duffy (J.R.’s brother Bobby) and Linda Gray (J.R.’s wife Sue Ellen) will be presenters at this year’s awards show, executive producer and director Jeff Margolis said Friday.
The three were original cast members, and have also signed on for the highly anticipated 2012 version, which will air on TNT.
Having originally run from 1978 to 1991 on CBS, the drama about the oil- and cattle-rich Ewing family will continue with new episodes focusing upon J.R. Ewing’s grown-up son John Ross Ewing III and Bobby Ewing’s adopted son Christopher Ewing.
The SAG awards will be broadcast live from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center on Jan. 29.
