James Franco has his work cut out for him as a first-time co-host of the Academy Awards.

But he can count on at least one cheering section inside Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre, where he’ll be taking the stage with fellow host Anne Hathaway.

“Grandmother is coming to the Oscars,” Franco, 32, tells Access Hollywood. “The whole family is coming to the Oscars. That’s one of the nice things about being the host is you get to invite a bunch of people, so they are all coming.”

Franco’s grandmother might even attempt to steal the spotlight, Franco adds. After all, she’s already an Internet celebrity of sorts after her strongly worded Christmas video urging people see her grandson’s movie 127 Hours.

“Grandma is coming and she might just be on camera,” Franco says. “She can’t wait for it either … Every day she counts the number of hits that she gets on Funny or Die. I think we’re up to 400,000. She gives me updates.”
