Party-hopping was mandatory for TV stars on Sunday, but Kanye West made the night’s biggest splash with two surprise post-Emmy performances.

The 29-year-old rapper followed his onstage rap lyric quiz with Rainn Wilson by hustling over to Justin Timberlake‘s concert at the Staples Center for an impromptu performance of “Stronger.” Then he performed again with John Legend at TV Guide’s bash at Hollywood hotspot Les Deux. The electrifying performance sent people rushing to the stage with their hands in the air.

Lisa Rinna was going wild. She was gyrating like crazy to [the music],” an onlooker told PEOPLE. After lambasting the audio guy for missing his cue up of “Gold Digger,” West only had himself to blame for his follow-up mistake, apologizing to the crowd halfway through the song, “I forgot my lyrics. I’m way over the time they paid me for, just play the track and I’ll walk out.”

Love for America

Entertainment Tonight and PEOPLE magazine held a party at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, where guests included Emmy winner Jeremy Piven, Tori Spelling, former Grey’s Anatomy costars Kate Walsh and Ellen Pompeo, nominee Masi Oka of Heroes and the proud cast of Ugly Betty.

“America’s over the moon.” Ana Ortiz said of Betty costar America Ferrera‘s Emmy win. “I think she might be the first Latina, a leading actress to have won this. She’s 23 and she’s our leader.”

Vanessa Williams agreed: “She’s phenomenal! Absolutely, we’re really proud of her. She deserves it.”

Dance Fever

At the same bash, Hayden Panettiere busted a move to Duran Duran with Heroes costars Oka and Ali Larter. Private Practice‘s Walsh was nearby, dancing to the band with new husband Alex Young. And proving that her Desperate Housewives bar dancing scene was no fluke, Felicity Huffman swayed away with abandon to “Hungry Like the Wolf” with husband William H. Macy.
