Adele could have done without one particular well-wisher at Sunday’s Grammy Awards – a Ukrainian TV presenter who crashed the stage during her win and was later jailed for trespassing.

Vitalii Sediuk spent the night behind bars and faces a court date in March after somehow evading security and entering the Staples Center without a ticket or any credentials, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

When Adele, 24, won best pop solo performance for “Set Fire to the Rain,” Sediuk appeared on stage and could be heard saying, “I love you, Adele,” before presenter Jennifer Lopez gave him a stern look and gestured him offstage.

He was immediately arrested.

“I’m not a crazy guy. I just think differently,” Sediuk, 24, later told the trade magazine. “The idea to go on the stage came up at the last second. To be honest, Adele is my favorite singer. So when I heard her name, I came up with this idea to go up on the stage and say what I said.”

Sediuk has pulled similar stunts before. Last May, he kissed Will Smith on the red carpet at Men in Black 3‘s Moscow premiere, earning a push and a slap from the actor.

Before his arrest, Sediuk was reportedly sitting in Adam Levine’s seat at the Grammys, right behind Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, after the Maroon 5 frontman arrived late.
