Lisa Marie Presley may have a recording career in her future, but don’t stampede the CD stacks just yet. Although I have been hearing from several sources that Presley, while still wed to Michael Jackson, began making a four-song demo tape to shop to record labels and was even considering starting her own record company, her rep insists that there is no such tape. But he also says that Presley and her agents at William Morris aren’t ruling out a recording career. “Her priority now, though, is being a mother and raising her two kids,” according to the rep….

Need a good barber? Call Sharon Stone. So says Steven Haft, producer of Stone’s new film Last Dance. According to Haft, Stone needed “to work off her nerves” after filming the movie’s climactic execution scene—she plays a prisoner on death row—so she offered to give a haircut to a male crew member. “I used to cut my friends’ hair in college, especially when we had exams and term papers,” says Stone, adding, “I’ve even cut my own hair.” Others on the Last Dance crew were so impressed with their colleague’s new look that a line formed for Stone’s shearing. Haft says the actress worked into the night giving some 20 haircuts, including one to him, which he calls “the best haircut I can remember.”…

French actress Juliette Binoche, who costarred with Jeremy Irons in Damage, and Olivier Martinez, her dashing costar in the new period love story The Horseman on the Roof, are very much the romantic item. I’m told the two have been involved since making Horseman more than a year ago. The film opens in the U.S. on May 17….

I thought nothing of it in December when James Woods and Nicollette Sheridan showed up arm-in-arm at the CableACE awards in Los Angeles. After all, they share an agent and have been friends for years. But recently a source spotted Woods and Sheridan having a cozy dinner at Drai’s, a hip L.A. restaurant. So what gives? Well, I’m assured the two remain nothing more than just friends. They simply catch up with each other when neither has more pressing plans….

At Avon Books, comedian George Carlin is considered a party pooper. This fall, Avon will publish a collection of routines and photographs culled from Comic Relief, HBO’s annual concert to help the homeless. Each of C.R.’s regular hosts, Robin Williams, Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg, as well as participants such as Garry Shandling, Louie Anderson, Dennis Miller and Paula Poundstone, gave permission to use their routines. Carlin was the only one to say no. The comic declined comment. A portion of Avon’s profits from the book will go to charities for the homeless. And by the way, none of the celebrities involved are being paid….

Debt, a game show produced by Disney, premieres June 3 on the Lifetime cable network. In the pilot, hosted by Wink Martindale, contestants were given a series of clues relating to the question, “I slept with Warren Beatty. Who am I?” Disney bigwigs had no problem with the intended answer—actress Julie Christie, an old Beatty flame. But they did want the line changed to, “I allegedly slept with Warren Beatty.”
