DAVID DUCHOVNY & TEA LEONI SEPARATE WAYS-AGAIN
For a time, Duchovny, 50, and Leoni, 45, seemed to be writing one of Hollywood’s great reconciliation stories. They had announced their separation in October 2008, shortly after Duchovny completed rehab for sex addiction; but within a year the couple seemed closer than ever, holding hands, making out in public and moving back in together in New York with their daughter Madelaine West, 12, and son Kyd Miller, 9. But on June 29 they confirmed they’ve split once more. “He doesn’t want to let it go, and neither does she,” says a friend of the couple. “They just need to work on themselves before they can work on their relationship.” For now, Duchovny is living in L.A. filming the fifth season of Californication, while Leoni has been working on Spring/Fall, an HBO pilot about the fashion world. Another source says the couple have no plans to file for divorce and they spent the Fourth of July together with their kids on Malibu beach. “Their kids mean everything to them,” says the friend. “Whatever happens, they’ll make sure they’re a loving family.”
JEN & JUSTIN GOING STRONG!
He didn’t escort Jennifer Aniston to her Horrible Bosses premiere in Los Angeles June 30, but Justin Theroux is no horrible boyfriend. Later that night he lent her his jacket as the couple-nearly inseparable since they began dating in May-walked into Chateau Marmont to hang with pals including Chelsea Handler and Aniston’s BFF Courteney Cox. “They were supercute,” says an onlooker of Aniston, 42, and the freshly shaven Theroux, 39. “Everyone seemed celebratory, and he had his arm around her and kissed her cheek.”
DENISE RICHARDS ADOPTS BABY ELOISE
“The girls and I are over the moon,” tweeted Denise Richards, 40, after announcing her domestic adoption of Eloise Joni June 29. “And so is my dad Grandpa Irv … xo.” The next day Eloise joined Mom to pick up her sisters Sam, 7, and Lola, 6, from camp; on July 4, Denise wrote, “Late night feeding. She just fell back asleep.” Meanwhile Sam and Lola’s dad, Charlie Sheen, reemerged on Twitter asking Mike Tyson how much his white tiger cost.
NICK & VANESSA READY FOR KIDS!
“We talk about having kids at great length,” said Lachey at his bachelor party at Tao Las Vegas July 1. “We’ll do it probably sooner rather than later.” And while he says they’re not getting married just because they have babies on the brain, he admits his age is a factor. Says Lachey: “I’ll be 38 this year, so it’s one of those things I’m behind the eight ball on.”

Taking the pulse of celebrity love lives
PRINCE HARRY & FLORENCE BRUDENELL-BRUCE
Sure, there’s his on-off relationship with Chelsy Davy. Lately, Harry, 26, has been spotted with another blonde: blue blood Brudenell-Bruce. The model-actress with an art history degree-whose nickname is Flee-joined Harry and his cousins Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie in the VIP area after London’s Hard Rock Calling music fest June 24, a source tells Scoop. “She was very into him,” says the source, and Harry reportedly has spent time at her Notting Hill home.
PIPPA MIDDLETON & ALEX LOUDON & GEORGE PERCY
Despite reports last month that Middleton, 27, broke up with her boyfriend of about a year, businessman Loudon, 30, the pair sat with her parents at Wimbledon June 29 (far left). Two days later the royal sister was caught courtside with old college pal Percy-but was spotted holding hands with Loudon on July 3.
THE BACHELORETTE‘S CHRIS HARRISON A SHOULDER TO CRY ON
DISSECTING THE DRAMA, KEEPING THE PEACE AND COMFORTING DISTRAUGHT CONTESTANTS IS ALL IN A DAY’S WORK FOR THE HOST
When he began hosting The Bachelor in 2002, Chris Harrison was teased for uttering little more than five words per episode: “This is the final rose.” But in recent seasons his flower-counting skills have taken a backseat to his more prominent role as what he calls “friend, confidant and therapist,” whether during moments of crisis (like current Bachelorette Ashley Hebert’s recent angst over two-faced suitor Bentley Williams) or after a no-longer-happy couple has split. Harrison, 39, tapped his inner big brother again to comfort a sobbing Emily Maynard as she spoke about ending her engagement to Bachelor Brad Womack. Conducting the sit-down, which will air during The Bachelorette‘s July 11 episode, “a huge part of me wants to stop, give her a big hug and tell her it’s going to be okay,” he says. “But I have to keep the interview going.”
Despite the high-profile Bachelor splits, Harrison says he’s still almost always a believer. During each finale, “I get caught up in the moment just like our viewers,” he says. “I believed Brad and Emily were meant for each other.” But they didn’t last-nor did last year’s Bachelor couple Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi. Their post-split chat with Harrison last year became “contentious and controversial,” and the exes, who appear on next month’s Bachelor Pad 2, haven’t moved on. “There’s so much animosity between them,” he says, adding that no matter what, he always tries to be fair. So if villain Bentley shows up at the Men Tell All special, “I won’t attack him,” says Harrison. “I’ll give him a fair shake.”
