Owen Wilson

It’s on! Sparks fly between the actor and globe-trotting fashion model Le Call

Since Owen Wilson‘s arrival in New York City in October, the actor has been spotted in the company of a handful of high-profile beauties, from Jessica Simpson to Miss Universe Riyo Mori. Wilson, who turns 39 Nov. 18, appears to have set his sights on one particular woman–but it’s neither of these stunners. It’s fashion model Le Call, 28. “She’s dating Owen,” a source tells Scoop. “It’s a new relationship.” Spotted biking through Manhattan together on Nov. 1, the duo reunited for a leisurely walk downtown Nov. 9. The following night, after Wilson took in artist Damien Hirst’s installation at Lever House, the pair ended the evening together with a late-night stop at the Gramercy Park Hotel’s roof club. Meanwhile, a friend of Wilson’s is downplaying the relationship’s intensity: “He is having fun–and not getting serious about anyone.” Reps for Wilson and Call had no comment.

Lindsay Lohan

Finicky foodies in Los Angeles are in for quite a surprise: Michael Lohan is planning to open a restaurant for his daughter Lindsay Lohan. The elder Lohan tells Scoop that he, family members and “friends in the business” are currently scouting locations in L.A. for a high-end restaurant. “It will be a place where she can be around people she can trust–where she can hang her hat and call her own,” says Lohan, adding that Lindsay will be a part-owner. Though he’s mum on the opening date and menu, the place will be modeled on a favorite Long Island spot and, he says, “we are aiming for a five-star restaurant.”

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie has landed herself yet another gig: guest writer for The Economist. The activist-actress–who serves as a goodwill ambassador to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees–penned a column for the magazine’s “The World in 2008” issue in which she calls for justice in Darfur. So is journalism one of Jolie’s many callings? Maybe! The Economist‘s executive editor, Daniel Franklin, tells Scoop, “Her piece was remarkably easy to edit! I thought she might have something interesting to say. It turns out, she did.”

“We talk about it often…. We’re just not trying!”

Britney Spears

Sure, she attacked one of their photographers’ cars with an umbrella in February, but now Britney Spears is showing the love to photo agency X17online. On Nov. 12, she partnered with them to auction off a signed copy of her new album, Blackout, on eBay. The winning bid (at press time, it was up to $7,200) will benefit UNICEF. “Britney had seen an auction on another Web site with [her] memorabilia,” says X17online’s Brandy Navarre. “She said, ‘Let’s do something that’s really going to do some good.'” It’s especially appropriate given how good X17online is to Britney. “Our photographers are nice to her,” explains Navarre. “They get her gas, wash her windshield, help her with a flat tire.”

The Hills Hookups

Despite these cozy photos from a Nov. 6 Assassin’s Creed bash in L.A., Lauren Conrad isn’t dating Desperate HousewivesShawn Pyfrom, say sources. But Audrina Patridge is seeing model Tyson Paige. “They’re taking it slow,” a source says.

Chace Crawford

Blonde alert! The Gossip Girl star’s sister Candice, 20, sure looks a lot like current flame Carrie Underwood!

The college junior was crowned Miss Missouri USA 2008 on Nov. 11.

Chace has been spotted with her in N.Y.C. Most recently, Nov. 12 at Blue Water Grill.

Daniel Radcliffe

Does Harry Potter‘s Daniel Radcliffe have a new leading lady? Radcliffe, 18, and actress Laura O’Toole, 22, the understudy for Radcliffe’s love interest in the London production of Equus, were reportedly seen kissing after sparks flew at the show’s wrap party in June. O’Toole (left) is still working her day job at an organic food stand in London’s Liverpool Street Station while she waits for the traveling production of Equus to start. Radcliffe’s rep had no comment, but O’Toole told Scoop, “I know there are rumors, but I don’t want to talk about anything to do with that.”

Dax Shepard

After a PDA-filled summer, Shepard and Hudson “are not together anymore,” says a source. “They were trying to make it work, but it’s done.”

Shepard was spotted snuggling Heroes‘ Kristen Bell on Nov. 10 at Tao in Las Vegas. Beforehand, the pair met up at the Maroon 5 concert at the Pearl theater at the Palms.

Reese & Jake

These lovebirds are racking up the frequent flyer points. Just three weeks after returning from a trip to Italy, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal hit California’s wine country, checking into the Carneros Inn Nov. 11 in Napa Valley. The duo spent a cozy 24 hours in one of the resort’s private homes. “They were very affectionate with one another,” an onlooker tells Scoop. “They were cuddling, and he kept giving her little kisses.” Witherspoon, 31, and Gyllenhaal, 26, even bailed on a couples massage in favor of an evening in, the source says, adding, “It was clear they wanted to be left alone.”

The Writers’ Strike

Some famous TV faces raised their voices for Hollywood’s striking scribes–bringing babies, food and moral support

The Office‘s Rainn Wilson brings some Dwight to the strikers.

Desperate HousewivesEva Longoria Parker delivered pizza.

Amanda Peet walked the line with baby daughter Frances Pen.

Scrubs‘ Zach Braff called the writers’ demands “realistic.”

Sandra Oh picketed for Grey’s Anatomy writers in her scrubs.

The New Adventures of Old Christine‘s Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

America Ferrera and Ugly Betty castmates Rebecca Romijn and Becki Newton chanted, “Don’t be greedy! Don’t be petty! You won’t get your Ugly Betty!”

Blake Lively

Time to dish! The Gossip Girl star fesses up about surviving high school haters, her fashion addiction and her hunky costar

As trust fund baby Serena van der Woodsen on The CW’s Gossip Girl, Blake Lively is mired in a world of trash-talking prepsters. Offscreen? The California native, 20, tells PEOPLE’s Charlotte Triggs she keeps a civil tongue.

Did you gossip a lot when you were in high school? I’ve never been a big fan of gossip. Being a victim of it, I knew how much it hurt.

What did your classmates say about you? I was in a show choir. I can’t sing or dance to save my life, but I was very passionate. People said my parents paid the choir director to let me in. It was actually the parents who started that one!

And now? I can’t go out to dinner with a friend without it being, “romance!” Like with [costar] Penn [Badgley]: I’ve known him since I was 11 years old. He’s one of my best friends in the city, but because he’s male it’s going to be a “Romance Alert!”

Who do you hang out with on-set? My best friend on-set is probably my hairstylist!

Ever want to walk away wearing one of Serena’s glam designer gowns? Which time? I’m guilty of going to a fitting, then going out to buy the same outfit. It’s been a problem for my bank account!

It’s 5 a.m. and you’re on-set: coffee or Red Bull? Soy lattes get me through my day!
