Here’s the season’s last big spurt of fresh network programming. After next week, reruns take over TV and, because of the writers’ strike, they may continue until November or even into next year. But these days half of us have cable and half have VCRs, so we don’t need the networks as much anymore. Network viewership is down, and the longer the strike lasts, the lower it will go. So we will survive this strike. But the networks may not.
