Dr. Sam Keen, “noted philosopher,” gives us yogurt-for-brains philosophizing about finding world peace through “a better understanding of the way we think about enemies.” He shows us tons of editorial cartoons and posters, all depicting bad guys as dangerous or dumb devils. He’s amazed at how similar enemies are made to look. The observation is obvious but harmless. Then Keen interviews a psychotic killer who bludgeoned an innocent family because he thought he was a soldier killing Communists. Because this guy looked upon his victims as enemies, Keen thinks we can learn something about the way we look at enemies. Bull. Double bull. Insane killers are not a metaphor for society. To take this lunatic seriously and to treat him as if he were just like the rest of us is offensive and a waste of good airwaves.
