A photographer (Kenny Rogers) returns to his hometown for an exhibition of his work. Every picture is worth a flashback. The crux of the plot—and the hour movie takes its sweet time getting there—is the shutterbug’s reconciliation with his estranged son (Kenny Rogers Jr., 25). The story may have had special resonance for the Rogerses: Kenny Jr. did not see his father for a number of years after his parents divorced. But this sappy program-simplistic and zombie mechanical—has little to do with Christmas, or, for that matter, with love.
