British actor John Hurt (Hellboy), 65, tied the knot with Anwen Rees-Myers, Feb. 11 in London. This is his fourth marriage.
Citing irreconcilable differences, actor Stephen Meadows, 54, filed for separation from TV host Leeza Gibbons, 47, his wife of 14 years, Feb. 7 in L.A Meadows is seeking joint custody of their sons Troy, 13, and Nathan, 7. A lawyer for Meadows says, “He does love her, and he hopes this is going to work out.” Gibbons’s rep had no comment.
On Feb. 10 actor Bernie Mac, 47, announced that for the past two decades he has suffered from sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in organs such as the lungs or lymph nodes. “It has not altered or limited my lifestyle,” Mac said in a statement. The actor receives multiple treatments for the condition.
On Feb. 14 in L.A. Ashley Olsen, 18, filed a $40 million libel suit against The National Enquirer and its publisher, American Media, for a Feb. 21 cover story that claimed the actress was “caught in a drug scandal.” According to court papers, “there is no truth whatsoever to the Enquirer‘s claim.” A spokesman for American Media said, “We stand by the accuracy of the published information and intend to vigorously defend the lawsuit.”… Actor Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan), 43, was taken into custody Feb. 10 in L.A. for allegedly violating his probation by failing a drug test. Sizemore has been on probation for abusing his ex-girlfriend, Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss.
Keith Knudsen, 56, a drummer for the Doobie Brothers, died Feb.8 in Kentfield, Calif., of pneumonia. Knudsen joined the band in the 1970s and worked on hits like “Takin’ It to the Streets” and “It Keeps You Runnin’.”
