In court papers stemming from their 1999 divorce made public June 18, Boston Public alum Jeri Ryan, 36, alleged that her husband, Jack Ryan, 44, pressured her to perform a sex act in a club while others watched. Jack, a former investment banker turned teacher who is running for the Illinois senate, said that they did go to a sex club together, but both chose to leave. The exes are involved in a custody dispute over their 9-year-old son Alex. In a statement Jeri called Jack a good father and a friend.
On June 17 in L.A., Dawnette Knight, 32, pleaded not guilty to felony charges that she stalked actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, 34, by repeatedly calling her and sending threatening letters over the past few months. Knight is being held on $1 million bail. A lawyer for Knight said that his client “denies that she ever threatened” the actress.
Felony shoplifting charges against Winona Ryder, 32, were reduced to misdemeanors June 18 in Beverly Hills. Judge Elden S. Fox noted that the actress had satisfactorily completed her court-ordered 480 hours of community service and placed Ryder on unsupervised probation through December 2005. Ryder was arrested in December 2002 for stealing more than $4,700 worth of merchandise from Saks Fifth Avenue (PEOPLE, Dec. 23, 2002).
Punk singer Exene Cervenka, 48, asked an L.A. judge to increase her $3,000-a-month child-support payments from her ex-husband, The Lord of the Rings star Viggo Mortensen, 45. In court June 14, Cervenka, who now works as a librarian, said that expenses for their son Henry, 16, are rising. The couple divorced in 1998. A rep for Mortensen could not be reached for comment.
