Actress Katherine DeMille Quinn, 83, the first wife of movie star Anthony Quinn and the adopted daughter of biblical-epic director Cecil B. DeMille, died of Alzheimer’s disease on April 27 in Tucson, Ariz. She appeared in such movies as Call of the Wild (1935) and Unconquered (1947), wed Quinn in 1936 and, after having five children, retired from acting in 1950. The couple divorced in 1963, though Quinn, who is now in the midst of a divorce battle with his second wife, Iolanda, is claiming that his divorce from DeMille was invalid and therefore his 29-year marriage to Iolanda has never been legal….

Casino worker William R. Wilcoxson, 54, who on April 23 received the heart of nurse Rebecca Anderson, 37, after she was killed by falling debris while trying to help victims at the Oklahoma City bombing site, died on May 3 in Oklahoma City from a lung infection related to the transplant.
After pleading guilty on May 2 in Los Angeles municipal court to a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, rapper Tone Loc, 28, was fined $1,350, placed on two years probation and ordered to attend an anger-management program. The charges stem from a confrontation with a woman friend in October 1993, when he attacked her car with a baseball bat while she was inside the vehicle.
British actor John Hurt, 55, and his third wife, film assistant Jo Dalton, 36, announced May 4 they are calling it quits after five years of marriage and two sons. Hurt departed their mansion in Ireland late last year, and the British press later reported that Dalton was having an affair with the landscape gardener.
