Dravecky, who in 1988 had a malignant tumor removed from his pitching arm, made a dramatic major league comeback 10 months later, only to have his arm break in his next start, ending his career.
Washington Post executive editor Benjamin C. Bradlee, 69, will retire on Sept. 1 after 26 years at the newspaper’s helm. Bradlee, whose swagger, smarts and well-timed profanity were preserved in celluloid when Jason Ro-bards Jr. portrayed him in the film All the President’s Men (1976), will be succeeded by managing editor Leonard Downie Jr., 49.
