Hunter Hayes got up close and personal with fans outside the show. The singer gushed about the event’s Pioneer Award recipient Dwight Yoakam. “I love what he stands for,” said Hayes, who performed during a tribute to Yoakam. “He is so true to himself.”
Miranda Lambert, Lee Ann Womack and Crystal Gayle helped Loretta Lynn celebrate her 50th anniversary as a Grand Ole Opry member Sept. 25. “I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for her,” said Lambert. “She has done so much for women in country music.”
Both Rascal Flatts and Vince Gill (right) were honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in L.A. in September. “The only evidence to my kids that I was cool at one time will be that star,” said Flatts’s Jay DeMarcus.

Tim McGraw linked up with his Country Strong costar Gwyneth Paltrow at the Stand Up to Cancer telethon in L.A. Sept. 7. McGraw, who lost his father to cancer in 2004, performed “Live Like You Were Dying” during the show, which raised more than $81 million in pledges.
