ASHLEE AND PETE
“Ashlee and Pete seem to be devoted to each other and truly happy. Best of luck to them”
I absolutely love Ashlee Simpson—she is the kind of woman I want to be. I am so happy that she has found Pete Wentz, who is so perfect for her. She deserves the world, and all I wish for her and Pete is happiness.
Thank you for the wonderful photos and all the details of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’s wedding. They make a beautiful couple and I am delighted for them. I have to say, however, I’m disappointed that the newlyweds had to share the cover with her big sister Jessica and Tony Romo. The wedding wasn’t about them. It was a celebration of Ashlee and Pete and the love they have for each other. Couldn’t Ashlee have had her special day outside her sister’s shadow?
I’d love to be the bookie taking bets on how long Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’s marriage will last. I give it less than a year after their child is born.
Tonya Harding thinks her book will help people understand her and then says, “If you don’t like me, tough.” Come on. Tonya’s attempts to get people to like her are sad.
Any woman knows that for a girl, the teenage years are by far the most difficult. Girls are expected to be pretty, popular, athletic and smart, and no group is as harsh and as cruel as young women. For a grown woman to take part in hurtful behavior toward another’s child is simply not acceptable. I encouraged my daughters to read this story and share it with others. If nothing else, maybe lessons learned from Megan’s death can save another young life.
Congrats to the five wonderful women who had the determination to lose over 100 lbs. each through diet and exercise. As someone who lost over 40 lbs. 3 1/2 years ago, I know how empowering it can be to take your health into your own hands and make a change. Their success stories will inspire others to do something positive.

THE GIFT OF A BABY
Our story about sisters Rachel Schwartz and Deb Brenner evoked a warm response from readers. After cancer treatment made it unlikely that Schwartz could bear a child, Brenner carried her sister’s embryo to term; but four months before she delivered, against all odds, Schwartz herself became pregnant. “This was such a touching article,” writes Rhonda Bird of Levelland, Texas. “To give your sister a baby is the most unselfish thing anyone could do.” Amanda Richey of Greeneville, Tenn., adds, “This proves that through love, anything is possible.” The sisters have received hundreds of inspirational calls and e-mails about the story, and the babies are both doing well.
In our June 9 issue we misspelled the Web site address for Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman’s adoption aid charity Shaohannah’s Hope. The address is http://www.shaohannahshope.org. In the same issue we should have said Jonas Brothers’ new single is “Burnin’ Up.” And in our Father’s Day Gift Guide, in the June 16 issue, we should have said the hat in the “Cool Dad” section can also be purchased through revolveclothing.com, and in the “Action Dad” section, the monogrammed golf ball set can be ordered at personalizationmall.com. We regret the errors.
