Beyoncé Knowles and JENNIFER HUDSON rocked their performances at the Kodak Theater in L.A. Dec. 2—but it was backstage where things got rolling at Condé Nast Media Group’s tribute to songs in film. Stars, who mingled in the talent lounge, watched each other perform movie hits. JOHN LEGEND was wowed hearing FERGIE belt “Live and Let Die,” exclaiming, “That was hot, Fergie Ferg!” J.LO squealed “Papi!” to husband MARC ANTHONY as he walked to her after his song, “Mrs. Robinson,” for a big kiss. CHRIS BROWN hugged new dad USHER, and as QUEEN LATIFAH crooned “Big Spender” from Sweet Charity, KATE HUDSON (who was a presenter along with CHARLIZE THERON) sang along in the wings. “That,” she said enthusiastically, “is my favorite!”
MADONNA‘S DANCE CLASS
After MADONNA‘s Dec. 2 private session with her trainer, Tracy Anderson, ran long and delayed another class at the Steps on Broadway dance studio in Manhattan, the Material Girl decided to make it up to the 15 teenage students who were waiting. She and Anderson stuck around to teach them the dance aerobics routine Anderson created to maintain the singer’s killer bod.
When Heroes’ HAYDEN PANETTIERE and KRISTEN BELL aren’t showing off their superpowers, they’re happy to have a girls’ night in. “I introduced her to the BBC,” Bell told Insider Nov. 28. “Now Hayden’s obsessed, so we’ll watch Little Britain together.”
Talk about a duet. RILEY KEOUGH—Elvis Presley’s granddaughter—caught up with pal EVAN ROSS, son of Diana Ross, at the Burton store opening in L.A. Nov. 28. Also joining the pop progeny: Keough’s beau, singer RYAN CABRERA.
Why did KERI RUSSELL name her 6-month-old son RIVER? “We had another one picked out,” she said at the Gotham Awards in N.Y.C. Nov. 27. “Then when he was born, he was so calm and relaxed that ‘River’ just worked.”
