BATTER UP?

If Ben Affleck caught the photos of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s wedding cake, he must have felt a tinge of déjà vu. Certainly Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings did. It’s the same confection he created for the actor’s aborted nuptials with Lopez last September. “When I was hired for Jennifer’s wedding to Ben, I submitted that design to her,” says the Napa Valley cake maker. Lopez later passed it on to Jane Lockhart of L.A.’s Sweet Lady Jane as the cake she wanted for her June 5 marriage to Anthony. Unaware that it was Godfrey’s design, Lockhart created the three-tiered confection. “I was pleasantly surprised to see it [in a magazine photo],” says Godfrey, who didn’t mind the duplication. “Sweet Lady Jane did a fantastic job, and I’ve told her so.”

ROYAL WEDDING

Before 180 guests that included Clint Eastwood and Ray Romano, The King of Queens star Kevin James married his longtime girlfriend, model Steffiana De la Cruz, June 19 at a Catholic church in Dana Point, a beach town in Orange County. “Kevin was very nervous,” says a guest. “He was sweating.” After the ceremony guests headed to the reception at a resort in Laguna Beach, Calif., complete with gaming tables and a buffet that included “all kinds of food,” says wedding planner Mindy Weiss, “even McDonald’s.” Eddie Money played for an hour and a half, with James joining in on “Take Me Home Tonight.” The couple, who met on a blind date, got engaged last October.

PAGING PINK

Organizers of the Golden Rainbow say Pink was a no-show at their fund-raiser for AIDS and HIV on June 19 and 20 in Las Vegas, disappointing over 2,000 fans, even though the singer originally approached them about appearing. “She has not called to explain,” says Rainbow president Carol Hunter. But Pink’s manager says the rocker has been rehearsing for her European tour that begins this week and was never scheduled to appear.

THE FULL MONTY

In February I reported that Colin Farrell shot a scene completely starkers in the film A Home at the End of the World. Now it seems the actor has turned his back on showing his front. Sources tell me Farrell asked the filmmakers to cut the scene, fearing the full-frontal shot might overshadow the artistic merits of Home. Moreover, he was already “getting irate” at journalists’ questions about the scene—and the movie doesn’t open until July 23. The filmmakers obliged.

FAST TAKES

Despite long hours on the set, working moms Kate Hudson and Debra Messing won’t ever be far from their newborns. Both have Infant Recognition Video, a DVD that flashes their photo on a TV screen with the word “Mommy.” “It’s so cute,” says Hudson….

Naomi Watts is in L.A. shooting The Ring 2 and the director, Hideo Nakata, is doing everything he can to ensure good karma on the horror flick set. He invited a Japanese Shinto priest to conduct a purification ceremony known as a matsuri that “reduces impure conditions.”
