Harrison Ford spent part of the holiday season laid out at the Tarzana Regional Medical Center in Los Angeles. No, the action star wasn’t injured. On Dec, 20, his ailing 86-year-old mother, Dorothy, was rushed to the emergency room and wound up in the intensive cardiac unit. Ford, who hurried to her side, slept on a cot in her hospital room until Christmas Eve, when she was released. Before taking her home, the actor posed for pictures and signed autographs for the staff. Although the other woman in his life, Calista Flockhart, wasn’t seen at the hospital, there’s growing speculation that the couple will wed this summer. Ford’s first wife, screen- writer Melissa Mathison, filed for divorce on Dec. 10—more than two years after the pair first separated—and he could get married in six months, the earliest the divorce can be finalized under California law.

Things aren’t always tip-top among the hip-hop. When Sean “P. Diddy” Combs attended the Dec. 16 opening of the Manhattan nightspot Marquee, fellow clubgoers noticed that he was drinking water rather than his customary Cristal champagne. According to a friend, the mogul wasn’t imbibing because he has an ulcer. “He’s been laying off drinking and partying,” says the source. A rep for Combs had no comment.

After nearly 10 years together, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox Arquette, Lisa Kudrow and the rest of the Friends gang held their very last holiday party on the Warner Bros, lot in Burbank on Dec. 19. With only two episodes of the hit show left to shoot, the six stars chipped in and bought every crew member a $249 PalmOne Zire 71, a high-tech Palm Pilot that also serves as a digital camera, MP3 player and video player. And because they liked the gadget so much, the Friends ordered six for themselves.

Mum-to-be Kate Hudson threw hubby Chris Robinson a rockin’ 37th-birthday party at Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell’s L.A. home on Dec. 20. The 300 guests—all of whom received a coffee mug emblazoned with a marijuana leaf decked out like a Christmas tree—included Warren Beatty, Diane Keaton, Sheryl Crow, a very bald Jim Carrey (for his role in Lemony Snicket), Bo Derek, John Corbett and Hudson’s actor brother Oliver Hudson. Also attending was Ashton Kutcher, who came with Demi Moore and her three kids. The 25-year-old Kutcher seems to have found common ground with Moore’s oldest daughter: Among the few dancing at the party were Kutcher and 15-year-old Rumer.

Comedian COLIN QUINN left Dec. 28 for Iraq to perform stand-up for U.S. troops on New Year’s Eve….

CHRISTINA AGUILERA spent Dec. 21 at a women’s shelter near her hometown of Wexford, Pa., wrapping presents for 23 resident children. That and a $200,000 donation made her the most popular pop star in town….

JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT, who has been linked with WILMER VALDERRAMA, KIP PARDUE, JOHN MAYER and ANTONIO SABATO JR. in the past two years, denies that her love life is as interesting as the tabloid press presumes. “I’m not the slutty shopper they make me out to be,” she says.
