Bruce Springsteen often turns up for an impromptu performance at the Stone Pony, the Asbury Park, N.J., nightclub where he got his start. So it wasn’t a big surprise when the rocker showed up there earlier this month. What the audience didn’t expect was Michael J. Fox jamming with the Boss onstage. The actor, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, joined Springsteen to raise money for the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation. Fox played guitar and sang on “Light of Day” (also the name of the 1987 movie in which he costarred with Joan Jett) and gave it his all on “Twist and Shout” to close out the concert. The two-night event raised $100,000.

The combined birthday bash of top CAA agents Bryan Lourd and Kevin Huvane, held Nov. 7 at Lourd’s Bel Air home, drew a Who’s Who of Hollywood honchos. Demi Moore, just a few days shy of her own 41st birthday, arrived with Ashton Kutcher. Brad Pitt chatted up Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore. (The Angels came together, though Diaz entered the party riding piggyback on an unidentified male guest.) Meanwhile, Sandra Bullock, Annette Bening and Warren Beatty lolled on a couch and later mingled with Beatty’s ex Madonna.

Courteney Cox Arquette was none too pleased when another car collided with hers on an L.A. street Nov. 7. The Friends star seemed shaken as she got out of her Mercedes to confront the other driver. But the incident proved to be minor, and Cox looked the picture of health three days later when she was spotted shopping at Diva, a high-end furniture store. Some reports say Cox, who has spoken about her desire to have a family, is pregnant. Asked whether congratulations were in order at a charity event two days after the accident, her husband, actor David Arquette, replied cryptically, “Not officially.”

Jessica Simpson may play ditzy on her MTV reality show Newly-weds, but she put plenty of thought into planning husband Nick Lachey‘s 30th-birthday celebration Nov. 9. First she arranged to fly in four of his best friends from Ohio, where he grew up, for a weekend of football, watching and beer drinking. Then, on the big night, the pop singer threw a party at L.A. burlesque club Forty Deuce, where she jumped out of a cake and sang “Happy Birthday.” Simpson’s gift to her beloved? A 15-carat diamond Jacob & Co. watch worth $40,000. Says Lachey, with perhaps a bit of understatement: “It was a really nice weekend.”

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE recently made his first appearance at Chi, the new West Hollywood restaurant in which he’s an investor. The singer, along with his sweetie CAMERON DIAZ and six friends, gorged on dim-sum and downed four bottles of Cristal at $400 a pop…..

ASHTON KUTCHER‘s basketball team, the Clippers, won their opening game in the NBA Entertainment League Nov. 9. Without Demi there to cheer him on, Kutcher scored only two points….

JESSICA ALBA and MICHAEL WEATHERLY remain the friendliest of exes. The former couple were seen shopping and lunching in West Hollywood Nov. 6.
