Frosted Flakes!

Posted on

Think Chariots of Fire meets the Ice Capades meets Talladega Nights, and you’ve got Blades of Glory.

In theaters March 30, it’s a comedy (no! really?) about the first Olympic male figure-skating pair (Will Ferrell and Jon Heder), a rival duo (Amy Poehler and Will Arnett) and waaay too much glitter. Poehler, 35, coanchor of Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update, explains the movie’s appeal: “Skating’s got good drama and good wardrobe.” She had a home advantage when preparing for the movie, practicing her lifts and axels with Arnett, her real-life husband. “We’d stand near the couch and just jump,” says Poehler, a fan of skating dramas (“I loooved Ice Castles!”) who’s still reliving her finest moments from the film. “When Will and I are having a down day,” she says, “we replay the scene where we bend forward and get the gold medals.”
