Coast-to-Coast: Nightclubbing

Posted on

New York

SUEDE

This Chelsea club—featuring a suede-covered VIP room—has been bustling since May 2002, especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Regulars

Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz, Jamie Lynn Discala and Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Drinks

Remy Martin Louis XIII cognac ($150 a shot, $3,000 a bottle), $12 Suede Martinis and $450 bottles of Cristal.

The Velvet Rope

Suede doorman Wass Stevens recommends “style and attitude” but warns, “don’t tell me how many people you know.”

Miami

PRIVE

As the VIP section of South Beach’s Opium Garden, the Moroccan-themed Prive (the partial open-air design allows for partying under the stars) has been heating up Miami for 14 months. The most popular night: Thursday’s ironically named Betty Ford party.

The Regulars

Paris Hilton, P. Diddy, Kid Rock, Anna Kournikova and Tara Reid (who celebrated her birthday there in November). The club also features celebrity guest hosts, which have included Chris Rock, Shannen Doherty and Daisy Fuentes.

The Drinks

Unlike the New York and L.A. hot spots, most celebs opt to keep the Cristal on ice at Prive, preferring to imbibe $325 bottles of Ciroc vodka.

The Velvet Rope

Miami clubgoers—especially those who are tall, attractive and sport funky attire—can pony up $20 to enter Opium Garden, but security guards prevent them from reaching Prive.

Los Angeles

CONCORDE

A Hollywood hot spot since July (especially on Wednesdays), the club boasts VIP booths on a raised platform.

The Regulars

David Spade, George Clooney, Britney Spears, Nicolas Cage and Jennifer Lopez (who threw Ben Affleck‘s birthday party there).

The Drinks

Ketel One vodka and Red Bull ($11) and Cristal champagne ($480 a bottle).

The Velvet Rope

“You have to know somebody to get in,” says co-owner Shereen Arazm. “Wed rather have 200 A-listers than 400 B-listers.”
