Given a formidable obstacle, gymnast Cathy Rigby almost always tries to top it, even if the challenge is to establish eye contact with a seven-foot basketball center like Cleveland’s Luke Witte. This is no small trick for a 4’11” woman, but clearly she is up to it.
Considered one of America’s best gymnasts, Cathy suffered a disappointing setback in the 1972 Olympics, placing no better than sixth in any event. Undaunted, she has applied her aerodynamic agility to the stage. There she won out over 1,000 auditioners to take the soaring, starring role in a production of Peter Pan which will tour 42 North American cities during the next year and a half.
